Our History
Performance Management Consulting was formed in 2008 by Carl Cartwright after a successful career in high volume, precision manufacturing and assembly. Carl's path led him through all levels of positions and responsibilities. After military service, his career began in the automotive and heavy duty bearings industry with a global leader in the development and manufacturing of bearing materials and bearings, then led him to working directly for a Japanese automotive OEM and Tier I supplier where he found a home for his passion for lean, continuous improvement and project management.
From there, Carl was tapped to head the operations of a global supplier of precision automotive components as well as identify and lead brownfield and greenfield projects and operations until stabilized and turned over to plant management teams.
Our projects have included success stories ranging from small equipment transfers, process upgrades and flow improvements through full scale site selection, construction and launch of manufacturing operations for automotive, industrial and consumer electronics, oil and gas producers, defense contractors, as well as organizational structure development and leadership coaching for manufacturers and service organizations including Not For Profit entities.
CNC Production Line Cellularization
Through utilization of lean tools, lead time was cut by over 30%. Outsourcing of production was eliminated completely, bringing absorption and margin back into the operation.
High Volume Machining Configuration
By understanding the product mix (15,000 SKUs) and optimizing the line machine saturation, we were able to establish 4 distinct machining lines, eliminate $6M USD if Inventory and reduce labor content by 25%.
